Day 2

Welcome to day two, my love. Isn’t it weird how guided we are? I find that through life, the teacher always appears. So often we go on a journey of self-improvement from the wrong energy, one of fixing. As I’ve been speaking of in every yoga class for the past 13+ years, the energy beneath your feet matters more than what you do.

And today’s card reminds us of that, perfectly. AHIMSA, often translated as non-violence, but personally, after teaching yoga and leading teacher trainings, I’d like to add some thoughts.

Non-violence only responds if there’s violence. And implies an “other.” I find that AHIMSA as a state means choosing compassion, joy, peace, and bliss.

Moving because you love your body, not because you “have to” or to punish it.

Meditating because you love yourself, not because you need to escape.

Eating nourishing food not to change yourself, but to change your experience of love.

See the nuance? The energy of why you’re doing it.

So often we go through life…never becoming enough. Choosing AHIMSA from within means we become enough inside, and our outside reflects that as well.

Maybe it’s ahimsa for you today, maybe it’s a reminder to be more discerning of your thoughts, habits, and behaviors…if they’re conscious choices or unconscious programming. Maybe it’s just choosing neutrality in the face of a challenging period.

Whatever your intention today, may it serve you towards self-actualization, because that’s truly what the purpose of it all is…creating ourselves greater so we can contribute to building a world we love living in.

ILY,

BIG.

always & forever,

-C
